Energy Saving Trust Green Communities Programme

Green Communities is a programme that aims to support, facilitate and promote community based energy projects. Supporting communities become more energy efficient will not only save money but also reduces the impact on the environment by reducing carbon emissions. If you or your community group would like to know more about energy efficiency, renewable energy options, or are planning a community project, the team here can help.

The Energy Saving Trust advice centre can offer the following services:

  • Articles for Parish Council Newsletters and magazines. If you produce a local newsletter, paper or magazine, we can provide carbon saving information and advice ready to publish, which can be adapted to suit local needs.
  • A free talk or presentation for your group. If you would like to arrange for us to give a talk please contact the advice centre on 0800 512 012.
  • A Home Energy Check for you to distribute to every household. For every completed and returned form we will send a personalised report showing how much energy and money can be saved in the home.
  • A link to an online version of the Home Energy Check to put on your website.
  • Energy Saving Trust advice centre posters to display in notice boards.
  • Attendance at your activities and events. Our friendly, qualified advisors are available to attend larger community events and can provide presentations and training to local groups (subject to minimum numbers).
  • Community energy plans. If your community is looking to implement a community wide energy plan we may be able to assist with training and information on potential funding and support through our partnerships.
