Grant funding and discount schemes

Our aim is to facilitate the take up of energy efficiency and sustainable energy measures across the sub region.

We are able to access funding from Local and National Government initiatives to assist with the cost of installing energy efficiency measures and renewable energy technologies.
Many of our grants do not require applicants to be in receipt of benefits.  For example we are currently able to offer free cavity wall and loft insulation to home owners, aged 60 or over, living in properties banded A,B or C for Council Tax purposes in the following areas:

• Craven District 
• Selby District
• Scarborough Borough Council
• Harrogate District
• Richmondshire District
• Hambleton District Council
• City of York

Homeowners, with a child aged 16 or under, receiving working tax credit and whose property is banded A,B or C for council tax purposes can also access a free insulation in the following areas: Craven District, Mashamshire, Pately Bridge, Bishop Monkton and Boroughbridge.

Heating grants are available to homes heated using individual gas heaters or electric plug in heaters for residents living in the districts of Craven, Harrogate, Selby and the City of York*.  Qualifying criteria is as above.

*Applicants in the City of York need to be aged 70 or over for heating grants. All customers are dealt with on a first come first served basis.
